Zahedan–Sarjangal: Two Baloch Sukhtbars killed and injured in car overturn

Two Baloch Sukhtbars were killed and injured after their vehicle overturned on the Zahedan–Sarjangal road.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, October 24, 2025, a Sukhtbari vehicle overturned on the Zahedan–Sarjangal route, resulting in the death of one Baloch Sukhtbar and serious injury of another.

Reports indicate that the accident occurred around 12 noon, after the Jonabad intersection toward Sarjangal. It is said that a tire burst caused the vehicle to veer off the road and overturn.

The deceased Baloch Sukhtbar was identified as Abdollah Yagizi, son of Alam, and the injured Sukhtbar as Mehran Yagizi, son of Shahbaz. Both men were residents of Lutak village in Zabol County.

Local sources reported that the late arrival of the ambulance to the scene worsened the condition of the injured.

Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have been forced to turn to due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct gunfire from military and security forces are among the dangers that threaten the lives of these Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the year 2024, at least 375 Baloch Sukhtbars have been injured or lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires. Of this number, 240 Sukhtbars were killed and 135 were injured, representing a 55% increase in the number of killed and injured Sukhtbars compared to the year 2023.
