Nazanin Elyasi, a citizen from the city of Mahabad, was released from Urmia prison after four months of detention by posting a bail of 4 billion tomans.
According to Kolbarews, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, Nazanin Elyasi was temporarily released from Urmia prison upon posting a bail of 4 billion tomans, pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
According to the report, during her detention, Ms. Elyasi was denied access to a lawyer. After her arrest, she was transferred to one of Urmia’s security detention centers for interrogation and was later moved to the city’s prison upon completion of the interrogation process.
Nazanin Elyasi was arrested on Monday, December 17, 2024, after being summoned to the Intelligence Department in Mahabad.
As of the time of this report, the reasons for her arrest and the charges against her remain unknown.
