Urmia: 12 Kurdish Children Summoned and Threatened by Security Forces

Matin Jafari, Pejman Jafari, Sina Khaliani, Yousef Ghalandari, Milad Abdilzadeh, Matin Abdilzadeh, Yousef Alirezaei, Jihad Alirezaei, Faisal Alirezaei, Mani Tavareh, Farzin Khoobi, and Akam Ghorbantaj were summoned and threatened by security forces.

According to Kolbarews, on Thursday, March 27, 2025, these 12 Kurdish children, all under the age of 18 and residents of the village of “Nanas,” a suburb of Urmia, were summoned and threatened by the military base of the village “Ziweh” in the Margavar region of Urmia.

The report states that the summons was related to their participation in Kurdish Newroz (New Year) celebrations. After appearing at the military security facility, the children were subjected to threats and interrogation. Eventually, they were released after several hours of questioning and threats upon signing a written pledge.
