Sepideh Rashno, a writer, poet, and civil activist, has been summoned to Evin Prison.
According to Kolbar News, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, an official notice was issued requiring Ms. Rashno to report to the Criminal Enforcement Branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in District 33 of Tehran, located in Evin Prison, within five days. She is to serve her previously suspended sentence of three years and seven months, which was issued due to her opposition to mandatory hijab laws.
Sepideh Rashno was arrested in 2022 for her stance against compulsory hijab and received a suspended prison sentence. Additionally, in separate cases, she was sentenced to four months of imprisonment for her suspension from university and fined 1.5 million tomans for appearing without a hijab in court. She has also been subjected to a travel ban by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic.
