Two Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives in a fire caused by a collision between two Sukhtbari vehicles during a military pursuit in Sirik.

According to Kolbarnews, on the morning of Wednesday, June 3, 2025, a high-speed chase by military forces near the village of Ziyarat in Sirik County led to a violent collision between two Sukhtbari vehicles, resulting in a fire that killed both Baloch drivers.
The victims have been identified as Hossein Esmaeili (Hoot), approximately 23 years old, son of Shahi, from the village of Kenar Esmaeil, and Mohammadali Esmaeili (Hoot), approximately 34 years old, son of Sangar, from the village of Chekar, both from Minab County.
According to local sources, Sirik intelligence forces began pursuing a Sukhtbari vehicle belonging to Hossein Esmaeili near the Bandaran junction. The high-speed chase continued until the vehicle collided forcefully with Mohammadali Esmaeili’s vehicle near the village of Ziyarat. The impact caused both vehicles to burst into flames, and the occupants perished in the fire.
Reports indicate that the victims were trapped inside the vehicles at the time of the accident and had no chance to escape.
Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have been forced to turn to due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct gunfire from military and security forces are among the dangers that threaten the lives of these Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the year 2024, at least 375 Baloch Sukhtbars have been injured or lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires. Of this number, 240 Sukhtbars were killed and 135 were injured, representing a 55% increase in the number of killed and injured Sukhtbars compared to the year 2023.
