Saqqez: Workplace Safety Lapse Leads to Worker’s Death

Due to the lack of workplace safety and poor working conditions, Ismail Aminzadeh, a construction worker from Saqqez, lost his life after falling from a height.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, December 16, 2024, Ismail Aminzadeh, a 58-year-old construction worker from the village of “Gavara Qala,” fell from a building while working in the University Complex in Saqqez. He succumbed to his injuries as a result of the fall.

Ismail Aminzadeh was married and a father of three children.

In total, 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) lost their lives in workplace accidents in 2023, marking an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year, when the number of fatalities was 1,900.

Iran ranks 102nd globally in terms of workplace safety, a significantly low position. It is one of the most dangerous countries for workers, with many fatalities annually due to unsafe working conditions.
