Sahar Mahdi, 32 years old and from Saqqez, was arrested by forces of the Intelligence Department, transferred to an unknown location, and has been faced with the charge of “espionage.”
According to Kolbarnews on Thursday, April 16, 2026, Sahar Mahdi was arrested following a raid by Intelligence Department forces on her family home in Saqqez, without the presentation of a judicial warrant, and was transferred to one of the security detention centers.
Based on the information received, during this action, security forces entered the residence of this citizen without presenting any judicial authorization and, after the arrest, transferred her to an unknown location, and so far no information about her condition or place of detention is available.
According to a source close to the family, security institutions have attributed the charge of “espionage” to this citizen and have issued a two-month detention order for her.
Reports also indicate that government institutions have linked this accusation to the political activities of Sahar Mahdi’s brother, who is a member of the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), and have justified her arrest on the basis of this connection.
