Sediq Mohammadi, a truck driver from Sanandaj, was arrested by the Intelligence Department for supporting the nationwide drivers’ strike.
According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Sediq Mohammadi, a transit truck driver and resident of Sanandaj, was arrested by intelligence agents on one of the city’s streets.
Reportedly, the reason for his arrest was his public support and solidarity with the nationwide truck drivers’ strike.
According to the report, Mr. Mohammadi had been summoned multiple times in recent days by the Intelligence Department through phone calls. Nevertheless, he was arrested on Tuesday and taken to an undisclosed location.
As of the time of this report, no specific information is available about his whereabouts, and his family’s efforts to obtain news about him have so far been unsuccessful.
It is worth noting that the nationwide strike by truck drivers and haulers began on May 19, 2025, at the call of the National Union of Truck Drivers and Transport Workers, and it is still ongoing.
