Sanandaj: Temporary Release of Women’s Rights Activist Soma Mohammadzadeh on Bail

Soma Mohammadzadeh, a civil activist and women’s rights advocate from Sanandaj, has been temporarily released on one billion tomans bail.

According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, she was released on bail pending the completion of judicial proceedings.

Soma Mohammadzadeh was arrested on Monday, March 10, 2025, without a judicial warrant, by security forces at her workplace in Almas Passage, Sanandaj, and taken to an undisclosed location.

It is reported that her arrest was linked to the International Women’s Day event held in Sanandaj. However, as of the time of this report, no official information is available regarding the charges against her.
