Twenty days after the arrest of Amjad Geryakhiz, a labor activist and member of the anti-execution campaign, there is still no information about his fate. Geryakhiz suffers from severe spinal pain and urgently requires medical treatment.

According to Kolbernews, Amjad Geryakhiz, a civil activist from Sanandaj, has been missing since his arrest. His family’s concerns are growing as they remain unaware of his condition or whereabouts. He suffers from intense spinal pain and is in urgent need of medical care.
Last week, security forces also threatened to arrest his wife, Arezoo Sabouri. In the first week of his detention, Sabouri, along with their two young children, visited the Sanandaj Intelligence Office daily to seek information about her husband. However, security officials refused to provide any details and warned her that if she continued to inquire about him, she too would be arrested.
On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Amjad Geryakhiz was arrested by security forces on the street, without a court order, while working at a bakery. His arrest was reportedly due to his participation in the general strike in Kurdish cities. Since then, he has been transferred to an undisclosed location.
As of this report, no information is available regarding the charges against him or his current whereabouts.
Geryakhiz has previously been summoned and interrogated by security forces due to his activism in the anti-execution campaign, particularly during the case of Ramin Hossein Panahi’s execution sentence.
