Security forces raided the home of women’s rights activist Leila Pashaei in Sanandaj and arrested her.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, March 10, 2025, security forces stormed Leila Pashaei’s home and arrested her once again. The charge against her has been stated as “acting against national security.”
World wrestling champion Sardar Pashaei, Leila’s brother, commented on the charge via the social media platform X, explaining that his sister was arrested for expressing her opposition to compulsory hijab, child marriage, and the execution of female prisoners on the occasion of International Women’s Day, alongside other women protesting these issues.
Reports indicate that in recent days, at least four other women’s rights activists have been arrested in various cities across Kurdistan. In addition to Leila Pashaei, the detained activists include Soheila Motaei in Saqqez and Dehgolan, as well as Baran Saedi and Soma Mohammad Rezaei in Sanandaj. So far, no precise information has been released about their whereabouts.
These arrests come amid increasing pressure on women’s rights activists in Iran in recent months, with security agencies escalating their crackdown on protesters and civil society activists.
