During the nationwide protests of recent days in Iran, at least 17 citizens in various cities across the country have been killed by direct gunfire from government forces. These citizens were killed in the provinces of Ilam, Kermanshah, Hamedan, Lorestan, Fars, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Isfahan, and their identities have now been confirmed.

According to Kolbarnews, one week after the start of nationwide protests in Iran, the identities of 17 citizens who were killed during recent demonstrations in the cities of Malekshahi, Hamedan, Harsin, Nourabad, Kuhdasht, Azna, Lordegan, Fooladshahr, and Marvdasht located in the provinces of Ilam, Kermanshah, Hamedan, Lorestan, Fars, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Isfahan have been confirmed.
Based on available information, among the 17 people killed, at least 9 were Lur citizens and 7 were Kurdish citizens, one of whom belonged to the Yarsan religious minority. In addition, one Persian citizen was killed during protests in the city of Hamedan.
On Saturday, January 3, 2026, Mehdi Emami-Pour, a Kurdish citizen from Malekshahi in Ilam Province, was shot directly by government forces during popular protests in the city and died from the severity of his injuries after being transferred to Imam Khomeini Hospital. On the same day, Farez Agha-Mohammadi, a Kurdish citizen from Malekshahi, was also killed by direct gunfire from government forces.
Additionally, Reza Azimzadeh, a citizen from Malekshahi, was fatally shot by government repression forces during protests in the city. Mohammad Mogaddasi, known as “Bazouneh”, another Kurdish citizen from Malekshahi, was likewise killed by government forces during the protests.
On Friday, January 2, 2026, Amirhossein Bayati, a married citizen from Hamedan, was killed by direct fire from live ammunition during protests in the city. His body was transferred to Besat Hospital in Hamedan, and government institutions refused to hand over his body to his family while placing them under pressure.
On the same day, Ali Azizi Jafarabadi, a 42-year-old Kurdish citizen from the village of Jafarabad-e Hezarkhani and a resident of Harsin in Kermanshah Province, was killed by direct gunfire during protests. He was married and a father.
On Thursday, January 1, 2026, Mansour Mokhtari, a Lur citizen from Marvdasht in Fars Province, was shot directly from the front by government forces and killed while protesting the killing of Khoda-dad Shirvani in front of Police Station No. 11 in Marvdasht. According to informed sources, a Kalashnikov bullet struck his abdomen.
That same day, Ahmadreza Amani, a 28-year-old Lur citizen from Azna in Lorestan Province, a law graduate from Yazd University and a trainee lawyer, was killed by direct gunfire during protests and died from severe bleeding after being taken to hospital.
Ahad Ebrahim-Pour Abdali, an unmarried citizen around 35 years old from the village of Hassan Gaviyar Mirbagh in Delfan (Nourabad) County, Lorestan Province, was shot three times by government forces in Besat Square while attempting to rescue a woman being arrested; one of the bullets struck his heart, and he was killed.
Khoda-dad Shirvani, a 33-year-old Lur citizen, father of two, and resident of Marvdasht, was also killed by direct gunfire during protests in the city.
Additionally, Mostafa Fallahi, a 15-year-old Lur child from Azna; Shayan Asadollahi, a 30-year-old Lur citizen from Azna; and Vahab Mousavi, a Lur citizen from Azna, were all killed by direct gunfire from government forces during Thursday night protests.
Later, Ahmad Jalil, a 21-year-old Lur citizen from Lordegan in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, was shot and killed among protesters in the city.
Sajjad Valamanesh, a 20-year-old Bakhtiari Lur citizen from Lordegan, was also killed by direct gunfire during protests. He was not a member of the Basij or any government institution, and after his death, his family was subjected to pressure and threats from security agencies. His funeral was held on Friday, January 2, 2026.
