Saman Qorbani, Akam Sheikhe Morsheh, Hezhar Mohammadzadeh Aghdam, and Iman Mohammadzadeh have been arrested by security forces in Mahabad, and the reasons for their detention remain unclear.
According to Kolbarnews, in the early hours of Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Saman Qorbani, a resident of Mahabad; Akam Sheikhe Morsheh, from the village of Qareh Qeshlaq; and Hezhar Mohammadzadeh Aghdam and Iman Mohammadzadeh, from the village of Khurkhureh in Mahabad district, were detained at their homes by security forces and transferred to an unknown location. Reports indicate that the arrests were carried out without presentation of a judicial warrant and during raids on the individuals’ private residences.
In addition, during the early hours of Tuesday, December 9, 2025, Kazem Azadeh and Naser Azarm, two residents of Khalifan in Mahabad district, were also arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location. With these two individuals, the total number of arrests in this incident has risen to six citizens.
As of the time of writing, no information has been made available regarding the reasons for the arrests, the whereabouts of the detainees, or the charges brought against them.
