Kermanshah; Death of Engineer Zahir Amirkhani During the Nationwide Protests

Zahir Amirkhani, a young engineer from the city of Kermanshah, has been identified as one of the victims of the nationwide protests in this city.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, 8 January 2026, Zahir Amirkhani was killed during the popular protests on Taq-e Bostan Boulevard in Kermanshah while he was filming security forces of the Islamic Republic opening fire on protesters. He was directly and deliberately targeted by gunfire and lost his life.

According to an informed source, Zahir Amirkhani was shot directly by security forces without any prior warning.

As of the time of this report, no further details are available regarding the exact point of impact, the transfer of his body, or the conditions under which it was handed over to his family.
