Mohammad Seydi, a 22-year-old Kurdish man from Sarpol-e Zahab in Kermanshah Province and a follower of the Yarsan faith, has been identified as one of those killed during the nationwide protests in the city of Karaj.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, 7 January 2026, Mohammad Seydi was shot with live ammunition by forces of the Islamic Republic during public protests on Ahari Street in Karaj, with the bullet striking his throat.
After remaining in a coma for two days, he died on Saturday, 9 January 2026. His body was buried on Monday, 11 January 2026, in his hometown of Sarpol-e Zahab.
Based on obtained information, security institutions demanded money from Mohammad Seydi’s family in order to hand over his body and carried out the burial process under security pressure and supervision.
Mohammad Seydi was the only son of his family, the breadwinner for his ill mother and three sisters, and earned a living through day labor.
