Javanroud; Arrest of Five Environmental Activists by Government Forces

Five environmental activists from Javanroud County were arrested by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran as part of the ongoing wave of arrests of protesting citizens and civil activists, and were transferred to an unknown location without the presentation of a judicial warrant.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Saturday, January 17, 2026, Mahan Azami, Yahya Darvishi, Aram Saeidian, Kamran Moradi, and Mohammad Hejrani, five environmental activists from Javanroud County, were arrested by government forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Based on the information received, these Kurdish citizens were arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location.

As of the time of preparing this report, no information is available regarding the place of detention, health condition, or charges against these five environmental activists.

It should be noted that the families’ efforts to obtain information about the fate of these detainees have so far been unsuccessful.
