Nima Hemmati and Mahan Hemmati, two Kurdish brothers from Abdanan and residents of Isfahan, were arrested by security forces and transferred to the detention facility of the Intelligence Department in the central prison of the city.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Wednesday, 18 March 2026, security forces stopped the car of these two citizens on one of the highways of Isfahan, arrested them without presenting a judicial warrant, and then transferred them to the “A-T” security ward of the Intelligence Department in Isfahan Central Prison.
According to the report, Mahan Hemmati is 17 years old and an 11th-grade student in the field of photography, and Nima Hemmati is a master’s student in ethnomusicology at the University of Rasht.
The two brothers are the sons of Dr. Nasser Hemmati, a psychiatrist, translator, writer, and civil activist from Abdanan, who has previously faced arrest and sentencing due to his civil activities.
At the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for the arrests or the possible charges against these two citizens.
