Elham Ostadi, a resident of Iranshahr, has been sentenced to one year in prison by the Zahedan Revolutionary Court.
According to Kolbarnews, Elham Ostadi has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment. The sentence was issued by Branch 2 of the Zahedan Revolutionary Court on the charge of “propaganda against the regime.” The basis for this charge is reported to be related to her posting protest content on Instagram concerning the rape of a 15-year-old girl by the former police commander of Chabahar.
Elham Ostadi, 30 years old, the daughter of Mohammad, and a resident of Iranshahr, was arrested by security forces in late August 2023 and was released on September 2, 2023, after posting a bail of 200 million tomans.
The report also notes that Elham Ostadi had previously been fined in another case for the charge of “disturbing public opinion.”
According to local sources, on September 1, 2022, Ebrahim Koochakzai, the police commander of Chabahar, allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl in his rest room under the pretext of interrogation. This incident sparked protests in Sistan and Baluchestan.
In February of the same year, the judiciary announced that Ebrahim Koochakzai, the former police commander of Chabahar, had been sentenced to imprisonment and dismissal from public service by a military court in Sistan and Baluchestan for the rape of a 15-year-old girl in the village of Sedigh Zehi in that district.
