A Baluch Sukhtbar succumbed to injuries after battling for his life for three days in a hospital in Kerman.
According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, December 20, 2024, a Sukhtbari vehicle caught fire in the Kaskin region of Iranshahr for unknown reasons, severely injuring the driver.
The injured Sukhtbar, identified as Nayeb Barahouyi, approximately 27 years old and a resident of Bam, passed away on Sunday after being transferred to hospitals in Iranshahr and Kerman.
The accident occurred when Nayeb’s vehicle veered off the road, overturned, and caught fire. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to undertake due to the lack of suitable and sustainable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle rollovers, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the first six months of 2024, at least 133 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, road accidents, and vehicle fires, while 80 others were injured in these incidents, including 9 children.
