Two Baloch Sukhtbars were killed and injured following the explosion of landmines planted by the IRGC in the “Mok Sookhteh” border area of Golshan County.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, two Baloch Sukhtbars encountered a landmine explosion in the Mok Sookhteh border area of Golshan County.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad (Moradbakhsh) Gomshadzehi, a 32-year-old father of three from Jalq, the central city of Golshan County. The identity of the injured Sukhtbar remains unknown at this time.
Reports indicate that the two Sukhtbars were traveling in their vehicle in the Mok Sookhteh border area when the vehicle detonated landmines planted by the IRGC, which lacked any warning signs.
Both Sukhtbars sustained injuries in the explosion. Mohammad succumbed to his injuries after being transferred to Razi Hospital in Saravan.
It is worth noting that Mok Sookhteh village lies at a zero-border point, with the Goldsmith Line dividing it between Iran and Pakistan. The residents of this village, many of whom are relatives, face significant challenges when attempting to visit each other across the border.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
