The torrential rains in Balochistan, especially in the southern regions, have led to the overflowing of rivers, widespread flooding, and devastation. This flood has caused extensive damage to the infrastructure, agricultural sector, and roads of Balochistan.
According to Kolbarnews, due to rainfall exceeding 200 millimeters, the flooding of the Kaju Qasr-e Qand river has resulted in the destruction of part of the flood barrier, agricultural lands along the riverbanks, and the entrance bridge to the city. Moreover, the flood has disrupted the power supply to 228 villages and caused significant damage to agricultural facilities, poultry farms, orchards, and fields.
Preliminary estimates suggest that the agricultural sector has incurred losses of over five trillion rials. It is worth mentioning that so far, three citizens have lost their lives and a considerable number have been injured due to being trapped in the flood.
The flood has also blocked 20 main, secondary, and rural routes in southern Balochistan. These routes include Nikshahr-Chabahar, Delgan-Zahkolout, Iranshahr-Delgan, Kenarak-Zarabad, as well as secondary routes such as Fanouj-Espekeh, Delgan-Jalgah, Bampur-Jalgah, Iranshahr-Mehrastan, Bris-Chabahar, Nikshahr-Bent, Jalgah-Chah-e Is’haq, Fanouj-Ketij-Rameshk, Chahan-Zarabad, Qasr-e Qand-Nikshahr, Bampur-Delgan, the border route of Reimdan, and rural routes like Iranshahr-Kheirabad, Bampur-Beheshtabad, Bampur-Firuzabad, and Kashari Kastak. At the same time, according to a Pakistani official, heavy rains and thunderstorms have caused destruction in various parts of the country, resulting in 71 deaths and 67 injuries from Sunday until now.
