Divandareh: Four Teachers Sentenced to Dismissal and Exile

Omid Shah-Mohammadi, Parviz Ahsani, Kaveh Mohammadzadeh, and Hiwa Qureshi, teacher union activists from Divandareh, have been sentenced to dismissal from their positions and exile by the Preliminary Disciplinary Committee for Education Employees in Kurdistan Province.

According to Kolbarnews, citing the Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers’ Trade Associations, these educators were recently notified of their sentences. Shah-Mohammadi, Mohammadzadeh, and Qureshi have been dismissed from their teaching positions, while Ahsani has been exiled for five years to Qorveh County.

In December 2022, these individuals were previously sentenced to imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj. Omid Shah-Mohammadi began serving his prison sentence in Bijar on April 8, 2023, and was eventually released in July of the same year under electronic monitoring.

The activists were initially arrested on June 15, 2022, by security forces in Divandareh and transferred to the Intelligence Detention Center in Sanandaj for interrogation. On September 6, 2022, they were released on bail of 1.5 billion tomans each, pending the conclusion of their legal proceedings.

Among them, Shah-Mohammadi has a prior history of arrests and convictions related to his union activities.
