Idris Haji-Rasoulpour and Hemin Ebrahim-Hamzeh, two residents of Bukan, have each been sentenced to three months of imprisonment by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to Kolbarnews, Idris Haji-Rasoulpour, the brother of Mohammad Haji-Rasoulpour—one of the marters during the Jina revolutionary uprising in Bukan—and Hemin Ebrahim-Hamzeh, a resident of Qareh-Gol village near Bukan, were sentenced by Branch 101 of the Criminal Court II of Bukan to three months of imprisonment. Both were charged with “propaganda against the regime,” and the sentences were officially communicated to them on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
On Saturday, June 1, 2024, Idris Haji-Rasoulpour and Hemin Ebrahim-Hamzeh were temporarily released on bail until the end of their trials. They were initially detained on Thursday, May 9, 2024, by security forces.
In October 2022, Mohammad Haji-Rasoulpour, who had been arrested during the nationwide protests of that year, passed away in December while in Qoli-Pour Hospital in Bukan. His death was attributed to the pressures exerted during his detention by security agencies.
