A Baloch young worker lost his life due to electrocution at his workplace in a cold storage facility.
According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Sunday, August 18, 2024, a Baloch worker lost his life due to electrocution at his workplace in a cold storage facility in Bandar Abbas. The incident occurred following an electrical fuse malfunction in the facility’s power supply network.
The identity of the young Baloch worker, approximately 20 years old, has been confirmed as Amir Raeesi, originally from Sarmich, a district of Lashar County, and residing in Bandar Abbas.
Local sources reported that on Sunday evening, after a power outage caused by a fuse malfunction in the cold storage’s electrical network, Amir was sent by his employer to inspect the network and reset the fuse. However, he was electrocuted due to a short circuit and the current running through the entire power network, leading to his death.
It’s worth noting that in 2023, a total of 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) lost their lives in work-related accidents in Iran, representing an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year, which saw 1,900 fatalities.
Iran ranks 102nd globally in terms of workplace safety, a notably low position.
