According to Kolbarnews, on the morning of Sunday, March 8, 2026, Pakistani border forces raided Baloch Sukhtbars in the Khorkantani area and set their fuel supplies on fire.

According to the report, so far there have been no reports of casualties. However, according to a video released from the scene, the Sukhtbars have suffered significant financial losses.

There are also reports indicating that during today’s events, a missile struck Gwatar Bay.

These events are occurring while, at the same time as ongoing tensions and military clashes between Iran, Israel, and the United States, many livelihood and economic routes in border areas have been closed, and a number of Baloch citizens are forced to continue Sukhtbari in such difficult conditions in order to make a living.

Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have been forced to turn to due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct gunfire from military and security forces are among the dangers that threaten the lives of these Sukhtbars.According to the 2025 annual report of the Baluchistan Human Rights Documentation Network, at least 262 Sukhtbars were killed or injured. Of these, 173 Sukhtbars lost their lives due to gunfire by military forces, road accidents during pursuits by security forces, or explosions caused by mines planted by the IRGC, while 89 others were injured. Four child Sukhtbars were among those killed.
