Tehran; 27 days of arbitrary detention and severe torture against Saeed Piri

Saeed Piri, a citizen from Abdanan County in Ilam Province, remains in detention under unknown conditions and without access to basic rights 27 days after his arrest.

According to Kolbarnews, Saeed Piri was arrested on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in the Hozeh Narmak area of Tehran by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and was transferred to an unknown location. According to received information, this Kurdish citizen has been subjected to interrogations accompanied by severe physical torture during his detention.

Reports indicate that Saeed Piri endured heavy torture for at least 10 days, resulting in broken teeth and injuries to his ribs. Despite his critical physical condition, he has not received any medical treatment or care.

According to the same reports, since the time of his arrest, this citizen has been completely deprived of access to a lawyer and family visits, and the continuation of this situation has increased concerns about his health and life.
