Sanandaj; Continued Detention and Renewed Detention Order of Sohrab Bahrami

Thirty days after the arrest of Sohrab Bahrami, a civil activist from Sanandaj, his detention order has been extended for the second time, and he remains in custody.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, January 25, 2026, Sohrab Bahrami, a well-known civil activist from Sanandaj, was arrested following a raid by security forces on his private residence without the presentation of a judicial warrant and transferred to an undisclosed location. Despite one month having passed since his arrest, he continues to be held in the same undisclosed location.

According to obtained information, the detention order of this civil activist has been extended for the second time, and he has been subjected to pressure to obtain forced confessions during his detention.

As of the time of this report, no official explanation has been provided regarding the reasons for his arrest or the possible charges against him, and Sohrab Bahrami has been deprived of access to a lawyer and family visits. The continuation of this situation has increased concerns about the health and detention conditions of this Kurdish civil activist.
