Sanandaj; Arrest of Khabat Dehdar and Afshin Hossein-Panahi, Two Labor and Civil Activists

Two Kurdish citizens from Sanandaj, Khabat Dehdar, a labor activist and former political prisoner, and Afshin Hossein-Panahi, a civil activist and former political prisoner, were arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.

According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, Khabat Dehdar was arrested at his workplace and Afshin Hossein-Panahi was arrested in Sanandaj by security forces without presenting a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location. At the same time as Khabat Dehdar’s arrest, security forces raided his parental home and searched the house.

According to received information, Khabat Dehdar had previously been sentenced in November 2023 by Branch One of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court to 12 months of suspended imprisonment on the charge of “propaganda against the system.” Afshin Hossein-Panahi also has a history of arrest and conviction in political cases.

As of the time of publication of this report, no official information is available regarding the reasons for their arrest, their place of detention, or the charges against these two former political prisoners, and follow-ups in this regard are ongoing.
