Siamak Hiyasi, a citizen from Bukan, has been temporarily released from Urmia Prison on a 2 billion toman bail pending the completion of his legal proceedings.
According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, Hiyasi was released after posting the bail.
Hiyasi had been arrested on April 19, 2023, without a judicial warrant by security forces.
After five months of detention, he was transferred from one of the security detention centers in Urmia to the city’s prison.
The charges against him include actions against national security and membership in one of the opposition parties.
