Reyhaneh Ansarinejad, a labor activist, and Davood Razavi, a member of the board of directors of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company Workers’ Syndicate, were transferred from Evin Prison to a hospital outside the prison.
According to Kolbarnews, citing the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company Workers’ Syndicate, on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Reyhaneh Ansari-Nejad and Davood Razavi were transferred from Evin Prison to a hospital outside the prison. According to the report, Davood Razavi was taken to Taleghani Hospital for gastrointestinal examination, and Reyhaneh Ansarinejad was sent to a rheumatologist.
Davood Razavi was arrested by security forces in October 2022 and transferred to a ward in Evin Prison. In March 2023, a court session was held at Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court to address the charges against him. Judge Salavati sentenced Razavi to five years of imprisonment and two years of deprivation of online activity and participation in political groups and parties for “assembly and collusion against national security.” This verdict was upheld by Branch 36 of the Tehran Court of Appeals in July 2023.
Reyhaneh Ansarinejad was arrested in May 2023, on the eve of International Workers’ Day, along with several labor and union activists at the home of Mohammad Habibi, a union activist for teachers. She was released from Evin Prison a few days later on a bail of one billion tomans. In August 2023, Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Abolghasem Salavati, sentenced her to four years of imprisonment for “assembly and collusion with the intention of acting against national security.” Additionally, she was banned from joining political parties, groups, and factions, and from engaging in online, media, and press activities, as well as leaving the country for two years. In November 2023, she was sent to Evin Prison to serve her sentence.
Reyhaneh Ansarinejad had previously faced arrest and judicial action due to her activities.
