Following the overturn of a Sukhtbari vehicle, two kilometers from Kalat, two Baloch Sukhtbars were injured.
According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Tuesday, January 7, 2025, a Sukhtbari Nissan pickup truck overturned between the village of Darband and two kilometers from Kalat, the county’s center. As a result, two Baloch Sukhtbars sustained injuries.
The identities of the two injured Sukhtbar, reportedly residents of Mehrestan County, remain unknown at the time of reporting.
Local sources stated that the accident occurred around 6:30 PM at a dangerous curve near the village of Darband. The vehicle veered off the road for unknown reasons, spilling its cargo and injuring the two passengers.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to undertake due to the lack of suitable and sustainable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle rollovers, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the first six months of 2024, at least 133 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, road accidents, and vehicle fires, while 80 others were injured in these incidents, including 9 children.
