A Sukhtbari vehicle veered off the road and fell into a ravine near Gornakan village in Sarbaz County, leaving the driver severely injured.
According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, March 2, 2025, a Sukhtbari vehicle lost control and plunged into a ravine in the Gornakan area of Sarbaz County. As a result, the Sukhtbar driver sustained severe injuries.
As of the time of this report, no details have been provided about the Sukhtbar’s identity or health condition.
It is worth noting that steep roads, lack of proper safety measures, and poor conditions of secondary routes are among the leading causes of such frequent accidents in the region. Many Sukhtbars constantly face risks of falls, rollovers, and collisions due to these hazardous conditions.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
