Sanandaj: Transfer of Qane Khatari to Prison for Sentence Execution

Qane Khatari, a civil activist from the city of Sanandaj, has been transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison to serve an eight-month prison sentence.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, July 7, 2025, Qane Khatari, a civil activist from Sanandaj, was transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison to begin serving his sentence.
He had previously been sentenced to eight months of discretionary imprisonment by Branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj, presided over by Judge Mostafa Azizi, on the charge of “propaganda against the regime.”

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, Mr. Khatari was temporarily released from prison after posting a bail of 500 million tomans pending the completion of legal proceedings.

Earlier, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, he was arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

Prior to that, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, this civil activist had been summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Department and released after several hours of interrogation.

Mr. Khatari has previously been arrested and convicted due to his civil activism.
