Oshnavieh: Three Citizens Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison

Rashid Faghizadeh, Omid Ebrahimi, and Yaser Sharifian, three residents of Oshnavieh County, have been collectively sentenced to ten years of imprisonment by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Kolbarnews, the court issued the following sentences; Rashid Faghizadeh, 1 year in prison for “disturbing public opinion”. Omid Ebrahimi, 5 years in prison on charges of “acting against national security,” “propaganda against the Islamic Republic,” and “collaboration with an opposition party.” Yaser Sharifian, 4 years in prison on charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic,” “collaboration with an opposition party,” and “possession of firearms.”

The three citizens were arrested on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, by security forces and were temporarily released from Oshnavieh Central Prison on June 1, 2025, after completing interrogation and pending the conclusion of judicial proceedings.

These individuals had previously faced judicial actions and prosecutions due to their past activities.
