Mahabad: Mohammadreza Qeytarani Sentenced to 6 Months in Prison

Mohammadreza Qeytarani, a resident of Mahabad, has been sentenced to six months in prison by the Revolutionary Court of this city.

According to Kolbarnews, Qeytarani received this sentence from the First Branch of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Doosti. The ruling, which was issued and communicated to him on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, sentenced him to six months in prison for the charge of “collaborating with an opposition party.”

Qeytarani was initially arrested by security forces in Mahabad on July 12, 2024. He was later released on bail on August 5 of this year.

Mohammadreza Qeytarani, 22, the son of Jalal and a native of Mahabad, had previously been arrested during the nationwide protests in 2022.
