Baneh: Farzaneh Rashidi Released on Bail

Farzaneh Rashidi, a student from the city of Baneh, was released from Saqqez Central Prison after two months of detention by posting bail of 1.5 billion tomans.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, July 27, 2025, Farzaneh Rashidi, a 26-year-old student at Payam Noor University in Baneh, was temporarily released from Saqqez Central Prison upon posting bail of 1.5 billion tomans, pending the conclusion of judicial proceedings.

According to the report, Rashidi had been transferred from a security detention center in Baneh to Saqqez Central Prison in late June/early July, while her husband, Saman Karimi, was transferred to Baneh Central Prison.

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, Saman Karimi and his wife Farzaneh Rashidi were arrested by security forces in Baneh and taken to an undisclosed location. Security forces first detained Saman Karimi on a street in Baneh, and later raided their family home to arrest Farzaneh Rashidi.

During their detention, both individuals were denied access to legal counsel and visitation rights.

As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for their arrest or the charges brought against them.
