Urmia: Gelawej Mohammadi Arshad Transferred to Prison to Serve Sentence

Gelawej Mohammadi Arshad, a resident of Mahabad, has been arrested and transferred to Urmia Prison to serve her sentence.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, January 12, 2025, Gelawej Mohammadi Arshad was detained after being summoned to the Criminal Enforcement Branch in Mahabad. She was subsequently transferred to the women’s ward of Urmia Prison to serve her four-month prison sentence.

Previously, Gelawej Mohammadi Arshad was sentenced by the First Branch of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Sajad Dousti, on charges of “propaganda against the regime.”

On August 15, 2024, she was arrested by security forces in Mahabad and later released from Urmia Prison on bail after a brief detention.
