Urmia; Death of Two Workers Due to Lack of Workplace Safety

Shahriyar Dirak and Nowzad Dirak, two construction workers from Urmia, lost their lives in a workplace accident.

According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, two construction workers from the village of “Ghazan” and residents of Urmia, identified as Shahriyar Dirak and Nowzad Dirak, who were brothers lost their lives after falling from a height while working on a construction project in the northern street of the Farhangian residential area of Urmia. According to the report, one of them died instantly, while the other passed away after being transferred to Khomeini Hospital in Urmia due to the severity of his injuries.

It is worth noting that in (2024–2025), at least 2,042 workers lost their lives due to workplace accidents, and at least 16,113 others were injured in similar incidents.
