Urmia: Bafrin Maroufi Arrested and Transferred to Prison to Serve Sentence

Bafrin Maroufi, a 43-year-old resident of Bukan, has been arrested and transferred to the Urmia Central Women’s Prison to serve a sentence of 4 months and 6 days.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, May 25, 2025, Maroufi was taken into custody to begin serving her prison term.

This arrest comes after she was previously detained on January 30, 2025, without a judicial warrant by security forces in Bukan. Following 16 days in custody, she had been temporarily released on bail from Urmia Central Prison on February 15, pending further legal proceedings.

Her initial arrest, conducted without presenting a court order, was followed by interrogation and her transfer to Urmia prison, as previously reported by Kolbarnews.
