Several members of the Workers’ Syndicate of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, as well as male and female labor activists imprisoned in Evin Prison, were threatened on the eve of International Workers’ Day.
According to Kolbarnews, citing the Telegram channel of the Workers’ Syndicate of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, some members of this syndicate as well as male and female labor activists in Evin Prison were threatened on the eve of International Workers’ Day. Reyhaneh Ansarinejad, Anisha Asadollahi, Reza Shahabi, Keyvan Mohtadi, Davoud Razavi, and Hassan Saeedi are among the prisoners targeted by Evin interrogators.
The interrogators have informed Shahabi, Razavi, Saeedi, and Mohtadi, who were transferred from Ward 4 to Ward 209 on Monday, April 29, 2024, that “any protest or statement from them will result in further case building and an increase in their prison sentences.”
Furthermore, these individuals have been told that if they publish any statement commemorating International Workers’ Day, they will face new charges and additional imprisonment.
The Bus Company Syndicate also reported threats against Reyhaneh Ansarinejad and Anisha Asadollahi for their attendance at interrogations, with these two labor activists opposing the interrogations.
The syndicate emphasized that “the celebration of May Day, International Workers’ Day, is the right of all workers” and considered the threats against labor activists in prison as a factor in increasing animosity towards those behind these actions.
It is worth noting that these labor activists were arrested in connection with security case building related to the visit of two French unionists to Iran, and most of them were arrested around Labor Day in 1401.
