Nahid Khodajo, Soudabeh Fakharzadeh, and Azar Karvandi (Korvandi) Mousazadeh, political prisoners, were released from Qarchak Varamin Prison.

According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Nahid Khodajo, a well-known labor activist, Soudabeh Fakharzadeh, and Azar Karvandi (Korvandi) Mousazadeh were released from Qarchak Varamin Prison. Details about their release are still unclear, but it is likely that this early release took place following the issuance of an “amnesty” directive.
Azar Karvandi (Korvandi) Mousazadeh was arrested on July 30, 2023, to serve her sentence and transferred to Evin Prison. In January 2022, she was sentenced by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court to five years in prison. This sentence was ultimately upheld in full by the Tehran Court of Appeals.
Another prisoner, Soudabeh Fakharzadeh, was arrested in late March 2023 by security forces in Chitgar Park in Tehran. After the interrogation process was completed, she was transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison on May 9, 2023. In June of last year, she was sentenced to five years in prison by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari.
As for Nahid Khodajo, this labor activist was arrested on February 21, 2024, to serve a five-year prison sentence and transferred to Evin Prison. On August 1, 2019, she had been tried by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court and sentenced to a total of six years in prison and 74 lashes. The sentence was upheld in full by the Appeals Court.
It should be noted that these prisoners were transferred to Qarchak Varamin Prison, along with other Evin inmates, following Israel’s missile attacks on Evin Prison.
