Tehran: Morteza Sayyedi and Nasrollah Amirloo Sent to Evin Prison to Serve Sentences

Morteza Sayyedi and Nasrollah Amirloo, labor activists, were transferred to Evin Prison to serve their prison sentences.

According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, labor activists Morteza Sayyedi and Nasrollah Amirloo appeared at Branch 3 of the Enforcement of Judgments in Shahriar’s Prosecutor’s Office in Shahr-e Qods, where they were detained and transferred to Evin Prison to begin their sentences. They, along with Mohammad Irannejad, had been summoned to this branch on Wednesday, October 30, to begin serving their sentences.

Previously, Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court in Shahriar had sentenced Amirloo, Sayyedi, and Irannejad each to two years in prison on charges of “forming a labor union with the intent to disrupt national security.”

On April 15, 2022, Irannejad, Amirloo, Sayyedi, and a number of other labor activists were initially detained by security forces. Sayyedi and Amirloo were released on May 9 and May 2, respectively, while Irannejad was released after approximately a month upon posting bail.
