According to Kolbarnews, Mohammad Habibi was released today, Wednesday, February 19, 2025. His release marks the completion of his sentence, including time spent in previous detentions.

On November 11, 2024, Habibi was arrested after appearing at the First Branch of the Sentence Execution Office of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Shahriar and was transferred to Evin Prison.

Earlier, in mid-April 2023, security forces arrested Habibi at his workplace in Tehran due to his protest posts regarding the serial poisoning of students. He was eventually released on May 21, 2023, on bail from Ward 209 of Evin Prison.

His initial trial for this case took place on June 30, 2024, at Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court in Shahriar, where he was sentenced to six months and one day in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime.” The verdict was upheld on October 12, 2024, by Branch 36 of the Tehran Court of Appeals.

Notably, Habibi was previously arrested on May 1, 2022, ahead of Teacher’s Week in Iran and during a protest by educators in Tehran.

In November 2022, Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced him to three years and seven months for “assembly and collusion,” one year for “propaganda against the regime,” along with two years of restrictions on political and social activities and a travel ban. However, he was released on February 8, 2023, following a general amnesty and sentence reduction directive.
