Tehran: Kurdish Writer and Civil Activist Gzing Ghazi Arrested by Security Forces

Gzing Ghazi, a writer and Kurdish civil rights activist originally from Mahabad and residing in Tehran, has been arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, security forces arrested Gzing Ghazi in Tehran without presenting a judicial warrant and transferred her to an unknown location.

During her detention, Ms. Ghazi has reportedly been allowed only one brief phone call to her family. As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for her arrest, her place of detention, or the charges against her.

Gzing Ghazi holds a bachelor’s degree in Persian Literature and is active in the fields of poetry, writing, and social counseling.
