Shazand: Four Miners Trapped under Debris due to Mine Collapse

Four miners have been trapped under debris following a mine collapse in the Shazand county. So far, the bodies of two individuals have been recovered from the rubble, while efforts continue to locate the remaining two miners.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, June 16, 2024, a mine collapse occurred in Shazand county, resulting in four miners being trapped under debris. 

Reportedly, at 10:00 AM on Sunday, a mine collapse occurred in the Shazand area, burying four mining vehicles along with their drivers under rubble. Due to the extensive volume of rock debris covering the mining vehicles, rescue teams, accompanied by search dogs, were dispatched to the site. Rescue teams are currently engaged in debris removal and search operations to locate the missing miners. Assistance has been requested from neighboring counties to support rescue efforts.

As of now, the bodies of two of the missing miners have been recovered from under the debris, while the search continues for the remaining two miners.
