Sarbaz-Rask: At Least Three Baloch Sukhtbars Injured in Vehicle Fire

At least three Baloch Sukhtbars were injured following a vehicle fire on the Sarbaz-Rask road.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, April 18, 2025, a Saipa pickup truck caught fire due to a battery malfunction near the village of Hashabadar, located along the Sarbaz-Rask route. The incident caused burn injuries to at least three of the vehicle’s occupants.
Reports indicate that the burns were mostly superficial, but the injured individuals were transported to Valayat Hospital in Rask for treatment.

As of the time of reporting, the identities of the injured Sukhtbars remain unknown.

Based on available information, two of the individuals sustained burns to their legs, and one suffered burns to the head. All were transported by ambulance to Hospital in Rask.

Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
