Nariman Randani and Milad Randani, two citizens from the city of Saqqez, were arrested by security forces. Milad Randani was released after several hours of interrogation.
According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Nariman Randani, a 35-year-old civil activist from Saqqez, along with his brother Milad Randani, were detained by security forces. According to the report, after several hours of interrogation and torture, Milad Randani was released later that evening.
Nariman Randani had previously been arrested on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, by security forces without a judicial warrant at his workplace.
He was eventually released on temporary bail on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Nariman Randani had also been released earlier on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from Saqqez Prison after posting bail. That arrest was related to the general strike held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in cities across Kurdistan.
It should be noted that the reason for his recent arrest and the charges brought against him remain unclear.
