Ghalib Hosseini, a prominent Kurdish labor activist and member of the Coordination Committee for Assisting the Formation of Labor Organizations, has been temporarily released from Sanandaj Central Prison on bail of 500 million tomans, pending further legal proceedings.
According to Kolbarnews, Ghalib Hosseini, labor activist who was detained 22 days ago by security forces in Sanandaj, was freed on Monday, October 28, 2024.
He was arrested at his workplace and spent over three weeks in detention before being released on bail.
Meanwhile, over the past two weeks, numerous labor, civil, and environmental activists in Sanandaj—including Jalil Mohammadi, Lotfollah Ahmadi, Armin Sharifeh, Tayeb Chatani, Zahed Moradiani, Arman Nurizad, Dalir Nasrollahi, Rafiq Karimi, Hamed Mahmoudinejad, Yousef Geramipour, Jamal Asadi, Payam Fathi, Golnar Ghadimkhani, and Reza Sharifeh—have been summoned by security agencies. These individuals were questioned in connection with the funeral ceremony of labor activist Mozaffar Salehnia, support for imprisoned worker Sharifeh Mohammadi in Lakan Prison, and their activities surrounding International Workers’ Day and International Women’s Day.
