Sanandaj: Qane Khatari Sentenced to 8 Months in Prison

Qane Khatari, a resident of Sanandaj, has been sentenced to eight months in prison by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj.

According to Kolbarnews, Qane Khatari was recently convicted of “propaganda against the regime” by Branch One of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj. The sentence was issued by Judge Mostafa Azizi, head of the mentioned judicial branch.

Khatari was released from Sanandaj Prison on March 2, 2025, after posting bail. He had previously been arrested by security forces on February 4 of the same year, without the presentation of a judicial warrant.

Earlier, on January 15, 2025, he had also been summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office, where he was interrogated for several hours before being released.

Qane Khatari has previously faced arrest and legal action due to his activism.
