Payam Fathi, a labor activist from Sanandaj, was summoned to the city’s Intelligence Office just ahead of International Workers’ Day.

According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Payam Fathi received a phone call from security forces instructing him to appear at the Intelligence Office at 10 a.m. that same day. The summons came as part of escalating pressure on labor activists in the lead-up to May Day.
Fathi has previously been summoned and interrogated multiple times by the Ministry of Intelligence due to his union and labor-related activities.
This development reflects a familiar pattern seen in recent years, where labor activists across various Iranian cities face increasing harassment and security clampdowns in the days surrounding May 1.
